LPGA TourAbout the League
The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour is the leading women's professional golf tour in the world. Founded in 1950, the Tour features tournaments throughout the United States and internationally, with golfers competing individually for tournament titles, prize money and season-long honors.
Most LPGA Tour events are played over four rounds, or 72 holes, with the golfer recording the lowest total score winning the tournament. The Tour includes five major championships: The Chevron Championship, U.S. Women's Open, KPMG Women's PGA Championship, The Amundi Evian Championship and AIG Women's Open.
Players earn Race to the CME Globe points based on their finishes throughout the season. The standings determine qualification for the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship, where the Tour's leading players compete in the final event of the LPGA season.
