NCAA Division I women’s ice hockey brings together 45 programs across five conferences, with teams competing throughout the regular season for conference championships and a place in the NCAA Tournament.
The Conferences
- Atlantic Hockey America (AHA)
- Seven women’s programs compete in AHA, representing schools from across the United States.
- ECAC Hockey
- Twelve programs make up ECAC Hockey, including the six Ivy League women’s hockey programs.
- Hockey East
- Hockey East features 10 women’s programs based in New England.
- NEWHA
- The New England Women’s Hockey Alliance consists of eight programs competing for the NEWHA championship.
- WCHA
- The Western Collegiate Hockey Association has eight women’s programs based primarily in the Upper Midwest and includes many of the sport’s nationally prominent programs.
Conference Standings
Conference standings determine league positioning and postseason seeding and are separate from national rankings. Formats and tiebreaking procedures can vary by conference.
